TRAIN THE MIND BEFORE THE MIND CONTROLS THE PERFORMANCE.

THE HIDDEN OPPONENT

Sometimes it’s the voice inside your head.

Pressure. Fear. Doubt. Overthinking.

The mistake you can’t let go. The expectation you feel you have to live up to. The result you are scared you won’t achieve.

The thought that says: What if I’m not good enough?

Sport Mind Mastery — ReDefined is designed to help you understand that hidden opponent and develop practical mental-performance tools to take back control.

TRAIN THE MIND BEFORE THE MIND CONTROLS THE PERFORMANCE.

THE PERFORMANCE GAP

The body is trained – The skills are trained – But who is training the mind?

Athletes spend hours developing strength, speed, technique, tactics and fitness. But competition introduces something training cannot always reproduce: pressure.

  • You can know exactly what to do and still struggle to execute when the moment matters.
  • You can perform brilliantly in training and suddenly hesitate in competition.
  • You can make one mistake and spend the next ten minutes replaying it.
  • You can lose confidence even though your ability hasn’t changed.
  • You can become so focused on the result that you stop performing the process.

The mental side of sport doesn’t take care of itself.
IT HAS TO BE TRAINED.

PRESSURE – Learn how to manage competition pressure before it starts controlling your decisions, emotions and performance.

CONFIDENCE – Build confidence that can survive mistakes, setbacks, criticism and difficult competition moments.

FOCUS – Learn to bring your attention back to what matters now instead of getting trapped in the past or worrying about the future.

EMOTIONAL CONTROL – Recognise what happens when frustration, anxiety, anger or nerves begin
changing your performance state.

RESILIENCE – Develop the ability to recover faster when things don’t go according to plan.

EXECUTION – Bridge the gap between what you can do in training and what you actually deliver under pressure.

THE ReDEFINED MENTAL PERFORMANCE SYSTEM

ReDefined is built around nine Mental Edges. Each one represents a skill that can be trained, practised and applied in real competition.

R — RESET – Bounce back fast.

Mistakes happen. Bad calls happen. Lost points happen. Setbacks happen.

The competitive advantage is not avoiding mistakes. It is how quickly you recover from them.

Learn how to interrupt the emotional reaction, reset your state and return your focus to what comes next.

E — EMOTIONAL CONTROL – Own your state.

Your emotional state affects how you think.
How you think affects the decisions you make.
And those decisions influence performance.

Learn practical techniques to manage breathing, physiology, attention and internal dialogue.

D — DISCIPLINE – Do what matters.

Motivation changes. Standards should not.
Learn to separate outcome goals from process goals and build performance behaviours that continue even when motivation drops.

What would the athlete I want to become do today?

E — EXECUTION – Trust your preparation.

Performance is not the time to suddenly invent something new.
It is the time to trust what you have trained.

Learn how pre-performance routines and mental rehearsal can help you execute more consistently under pressure.

F — FOCUS – Stay in the moment.

Past mistakes cannot be changed.
Future results cannot be played yet.
The only moment you can influence is this one.

I — IDENTITY – Know who you are.

A bad performance does not make you a bad athlete.
A mistake is something you did. It is not who you are.

Learn to recognise limiting labels such as:

“I’m a choker.” “I’m not mentally strong.” “I can’t perform under pressure.”

N — NEXT MOMENT – Win what’s next.

You cannot replay the previous point.
You cannot change the previous quarter.
You cannot take back the missed shot.

But you can influence what happens next.

NOTICE. INTERRUPT. RESET. REFOCUS. NEXT.

E — EMBRACE PRESSURE – Turn pressure into power.

Pressure does not always have to mean danger.

It can also mean:
Opportunity. Readiness. Importance. Competition.
What if this is exactly what I’ve trained for?

D — DETERMINATION – Keep going. Finish strong.

Mental toughness is not simply about feeling strong.
It is about what you choose to do when things become uncomfortable: fatigue, pressure, doubt, setbacks and unexpected problems.

THIS IS MORE THAN JUST ANOTHER MOTIVATIONAL TALK

YOU WILL EXPERIENCE THE TOOLS.

ReDefined is practical. Interactive. Experiential.

You will not simply hear about mental performance. You will practise it.

STATE MANAGEMENT

Your physiology affects your emotions.
Your emotions affect your thinking.
Your thinking affects your strategy.

STATE → STORY → STRATEGY

Change your state. Challenge the story you are telling yourself. Then choose the appropriate strategy.

ANCHORING

  • Learn how to deliberately access a more resourceful performance state.
  • You will be guided to remember a time when you felt:
Confident. Focused. Calm. Strong. In control.
  • Learn how athletes can associate that state with a physical and mental performance trigger.

PATTERN INTERRUPTS

  • Negative thoughts become dangerous when they repeat unchecked.
  • Learn practical ways to interrupt unhelpful thinking patterns
    before they become performance spirals.

REFRAMING

Competition pressure often comes from the meaning we give to what is happening.

“I’m nervous.” becomes:
My body is preparing me to perform.

“I have to win.” becomes:
I get to compete.

“What if I make a mistake?” becomes:
How will I respond when a mistake happens?

EXPERIENCE YOUR PERFORMANCE BEFORE YOU PERFORM IT.

Mental rehearsal is more than imagining yourself winning. Real mental preparation includes rehearsing the venue, environment,
sounds, breathing, movement, opening moments, pressure, mistakes, unexpected problems, your reset, response, execution and finish.

SEE – Create the competition environment in your mind.

HEAR – Bring in the sounds, voices, breathing and atmosphere.

FEEL – Experience the physical sensations and emotions.

RESPOND – Rehearse what you will do when things do not go perfectly.

EXECUTE – Mentally perform the action you have trained.

THE SIGNATURE ReDefined MENTAL REHEARSAL EXPERIENCE

TRAIN IT IN YOUR MIND. EXECUTE IT WHEN IT MATTERS.

During the event, you will take part in a guided mental-performance rehearsal. You will mentally enter your competition environment, experience pressure, encounter adversity, reset, access your performance state, refocus, execute, and rehearse the athlete you want to be when the moment arrives.

ONE EXPERIENCE. DIFFERENT PERSPECTIVES.

ATHLETES

Improve focus, build confidence, manage pressure, recover faster after mistakes, control emotional reactions, prepare mentally and perform closer to your training ability.

COACHES

Understand the mental side of performance, communicate effectively under pressure, develop stronger competitor mindsets and coach resilience and emotional control.

SPORTS PARENTS

Understand what your athlete experiences under pressure, support confidence without increasing expectations, and handle disappointment more effectively.

ONE MIND. ONE TEAM. ONE STANDARD. ReDefined.

For the athlete, ReDefined provides practical tools for handling pressure, building confidence and taking greater ownership of their mental performance.

For the parent, it provides insight into what the athlete may be experiencing internally — and how to support without unintentionally adding more pressure.

Together, you develop a shared language around performance, expectations, mistakes, confidence, resilience and growth.

The goal isn’t for the parent to become the athlete’s mental coach.

It’s for the athlete to become more mentally independent while the parent becomes better equipped to support the journey.

Meet Your Sport Mind Coach – Bennie Louw

Mental Performance & Resilience Coach | Speaker | Author | Sport Mind Coach

Bennie Louw is an experienced Mental Performance & Resilience Coach who works with athletes, coaches, parents and teams to strengthen the mental skills required to perform when it matters most.

With a background spanning sport mental performance, life and executive coaching, NLP and HNLP, change management and human behaviour, Bennie combines performance psychology principles with practical strategies that can be applied in training, competition and everyday life. He holds a BA and BA Honours from Stellenbosch University.

From Developing Athletes to High Performance

Bennie has worked across a diverse range of sporting environments, from young developing athletes and school sport to university programmes, high-performance teams and provincial, national and South African representative-level competitors.

His experience includes work witthin high-performance structures, as well as individual athletes and coaches across netball, rugby, tennis, golf, athletics, climbing, lawn bowls, archery, motorsport, padel and many other competitive sports.

Working across such different sporting environments has reinforced a principle at the heart of his coaching:

The sport may change. The mental battle is remarkably similar.

Pressure. Expectations. Fear of failure. Overthinking. Confidence. Focus. Emotional control. Mistakes. Setbacks.

These are not simply sporting challenges. They are performance challenges.

Beyond One-on-One Coaching

Bennie’s work extends well beyond individual coaching sessions.

As a motivational and performance speaker, he has presented talks, workshops and facilitated programmes for athletes, coaches, parents, teams, schools, sporting organisations and corporate audiences.

His workshops are designed to be highly practical and interactive, covering areas such as mental toughness, performance under pressure, confidence, resilience, emotional control, communication, leadership, active listening, team dynamics, goal setting and personal development.

He has also contributed to conversations around sport, mindset, performance and personal development through radio and television appearances, helping bring practical mental-performance principles to a broader audience.

Author & Creator

Bennie is also the creator of a growing collection of eBooks, workbooks, mental-training programmes and practical resources designed to take mental-performance development beyond the coaching room.

His resources cover topics including mental toughness, confidence, performance anxiety, resilience, goal setting, athlete development, sports parenting, overcoming disappointment, mental preparation and the psychology of performing under pressure.

Practical Mental Performance

Bennie’s approach is not about simply telling an athlete to “be positive” or “believe in yourself.”

He integrates practical techniques including mental rehearsal, visualisation, NLP, state management, breathing strategies, self-talk, focus routines, goal setting, confidence development and resilience training.

The objective isn’t to remove pressure from sport.

It’s to develop athletes who know what to do when pressure arrives.

Sport Mind Mastery — ReDEFINED

Sport Mind Mastery — ReDEFINED brings Bennie’s coaching experience, workshops, speaking, athlete development work and mental-performance methods together into one immersive live experience.

Built around nine Mental Edges, ReDEFINED challenges participants to:

RESET — Bounce back fast.
EMOTIONAL CONTROL — Own your state.
DISCIPLINE — Do what matters.
EXECUTION — Trust your preparation.
FOCUS — Stay in the moment.
IDENTITY — Know who you are.
NEXT MOMENT — Win what’s next.
EMBRACE PRESSURE — Turn pressure into power.
DETERMINATION — Keep going. Finish strong.

Your greatest competitor isn’t always standing across the court, field, track or arena, it’s the voice inside your own head.

TRAIN THE MIND. CHANGE THE GAME.
