What is your driving force?<\/h3>\n<p data-start=\"373\" data-end=\"611\">Every human being, regardless of age, background, culture, or belief, is driven by six fundamental needs. These needs influence our decisions, shape our behavior, and define what we pursue in life, whether consciously or unconsciously.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"613\" data-end=\"877\">Unlike surface-level desires (money, career, possessions), these needs operate at the <strong data-start=\"699\" data-end=\"743\">core of our identity and emotional world<\/strong>. The <strong>top four<\/strong> needs in the list above s<strong><em>hape our personality<\/em><\/strong>, while the <strong><em>last two<\/em><\/strong> (growth and contribution) <em><strong>shape our spiritual needs<\/strong><\/em>. People\u2019s needs can be met in a variety of ways; we seek fulfillment through our relationships, careers, personal interests and more. Here\u2019s more on the basic human needs and what they mean.<\/p>\n<h3 data-start=\"1079\" data-end=\"1143\">1. <strong data-start=\"1086\" data-end=\"1099\">Certainty<\/strong> \u2013 <em data-start=\"1102\" data-end=\"1141\">\u201cI need to feel safe and in control.\u201d<\/em><\/h3>\n<p data-start=\"1144\" data-end=\"1418\">The need for stability, safety, and predictability. This is our survival need \u2014 the desire to avoid pain and experience comfort.<br data-start=\"1272\" data-end=\"1275\" \/>People with a high need for certainty crave routines, security (financial, emotional, physical), and environments where they feel in control.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1422\" data-end=\"1605\"><strong data-start=\"1422\" data-end=\"1442\">Healthy example:<\/strong> Sticking to a morning routine, saving money, having a stable job.<br data-start=\"1508\" data-end=\"1511\" \/><strong data-start=\"1513\" data-end=\"1535\">Unhealthy example:<\/strong> Avoiding all change, controlling others, fearing risk or uncertainty.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"354\" data-end=\"370\"><strong data-start=\"356\" data-end=\"368\">When met<br \/>\n<\/strong>\u2705You feel grounded, secure, and in control. \u2705 You can relax and trust life. \u2705 You make plans and follow through with confidence. \u2705 You tend to be less reactive and more emotionally regulated.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"571\" data-end=\"592\"><strong data-start=\"574\" data-end=\"590\">When not met<br \/>\n<\/strong>\u26a0\ufe0f You may experience anxiety, worry, or fear of the unknown. \u26a0\ufe0f You might over-control people, routines, or outcomes. \u26a0\ufe0f You avoid change or resist uncertainty. \u26a0\ufe0f You may fall into rigid thinking or burnout from \u201cover-preparing.\u201d<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"828\" data-end=\"857\"><strong data-start=\"831\" data-end=\"855\">To support this need<br \/>\n<\/strong>\ud83d\udca1Establish healthy routines and rituals. \ud83d\udca1Create a sense of order in your environment (clean, plan, structure). \ud83d\udca1Build a strong financial\/emotional foundation. \ud83d\udca1Learn to find certainty within yourself rather than external control.<\/p>\n<h3 data-start=\"1612\" data-end=\"1684\">2. <strong data-start=\"1619\" data-end=\"1644\">Variety (Uncertainty)<\/strong> \u2013 <em data-start=\"1647\" data-end=\"1682\">\u201cI need excitement and surprise.\u201d<\/em><\/h3>\n<p data-start=\"1685\" data-end=\"1946\">The need for change, stimulation, and adventure.
